History of Alice

Saint Adèle (or Alice) was born in 931. Daughter of the King of Burgundy, she married the King of Italy, Lothaire II. Then, widow, she marries the King of Germany Otton I. At the death of the latter, she becomes regent of the kingdom and enjoys the advantages of his rank to do the good of his subjects, especially the needy. She died on December 16, 999 in a monastery where she had retired.
