I kind of agree with my own analysis based on the oral history as described above. In nyanja mwala is a stone and stones are weapons to assist any hunter, gatherer peoples in attaining their goals in the forests. Mountains are also platforms where one can be positioned in seclusion in order to destabilize the efforts of any thing trying to destabilize the peace of the region. Therefore, the bearers of the name Mwale had a responsible of watching over elephants. They were overseers of the natural habitats. Earth people who adhered to the laws of nature. A strong people indeed.
