Jamie Anderson and Tyler Nicholson — Snowboarding's Power Couple Expecting their first child

Jamie Anderson, the two-time Olympic gold medalist, and Tyler Nicholson, who competed in the 2018 Olympics, have just announced that their family is about to get a little bit bigger—they’re expecting a baby!

Anderson shared the news on December 8th with photos from her maternity shoot. “The most precious and beautiful I’ve ever felt," she captioned her post. The 32-year-old snowboarder told People Magazine that she's seven months along so far and that the pregnancy has been smooth.

Nicholson proposed to Anderson in January 2022 on a snowy mountain right before the Winter Olympics in Beijing. The pair had been together since 2015 after meeting on a snowboarding trip to Colorado. Anderson had originally planned to marry Nicholson in 2021 but their surprise baby has them pushing back their nuptials for now.

Anderson is no stranger to winning medals—she won gold in slopestyle snowboarding at both the 2014 Sochi Olympics and the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics. This makes her the first female athlete to win two gold medals in snowboarding events at the Olympic Games. She also won a silver medal for big air snowboarding at PyeongChang plus competed at 2022 Beijing Olympics as well.

Nicholson was also part of team Canada at PyeongChang but didn't medal at this event—he did win silver for slopestyle snowboarding at 2017 Winter X Games though. He was also part of Red Bull's "Drop In" show where top riders showcased their skills and talked about what it takes to be an elite snowboarder—something he now has something else to focus on; being an awesome dad!

The couple celebrated Anderson's pregnancy with a stunning maternity shoot photographed by Kari Rowe (with one of the shots shared exclusively with People Magazine). In one of the pictures, Anderson stands with Nicholson bundled up outside in the snow while resting her hand proudly on her growing belly; "We're having a baby @tylernicholson," Anderson captioned it on Instagram Story.

When it comes to cravings, Anderson says she's been indulging in carbs, healthy fats, non-healthy fats along with some sweet treats every now and then; as for finding out if they're having a boy or girl? The couple have chosen not too; "But it's one of the last surprises in life that are pretty genuine," said Anderson; something they will soon find out!

Aside from competing at winter sports events, Anderson has also made an appearance on reality TV, appearing on The Celebrity Apprentice in 2015 and Dancing With The Stars in 2018 while Nicholson is currently hosting his own podcast called “The Playbook” which focuses on athletes' success stories and how they handle life after retirement—a topic he may be able learn more about firsthand soon!
