Dancing Couple Jenna Johnson and Val Chmerkovskiy Welcome their First Child

After months of preparations, Jenna Johnson and Val Chmerkovskiy welcomed their first child to the world on Tuesday, January 10 in grand fashion! The happy couple took to Instagram to excitedly announce the news a day later.

The couple first met while they were both working on the set of Dancing With The Stars. Jenna joined in 2014 and it was there that she met her future husband Val. Their relationship grew stronger in 2015 when they officially began dating. They had been together ever since then and finally tied the knot twice in 2019 - once in April and once in June - so that all of their family and friends could join them both times. In July of 2022, they shared with the world that they were expecting a baby through a heartfelt Instagram post where Johnson shared “Our biggest dream come true yet. Baby Chmerkovskiy coming this January!”

The couple shared even more exciting news after learning that they would be having a baby boy. In August, Johnson posted a picture of herself with confetti all around her saying “It’s a BOY!!!! Today we are officially half way there to meeting our son” with an adorable crying emoji at the end.

The happy news didn’t come without some difficult moments for the couple however; Johnson opened up about her journey trying to conceive saying “We had actually stopped trying to conceive for about 6 months to mentally/emotionally give ourselves a break… it was heart wrenching at times to stay optimistic… It may not happen on your timeline and the journey may rip your heart open at times, but don’t give up on yourself or your precious baby - it will happen!” And seemingly it did as shortly after their son arrived safely into the world just one month after Jenna mourned over the tragic loss of her niece who she said “will live forever in our hearts & memories”

The post announcing their news was filled with celebratory comments from friends such as Rumer Willis who wrote “Congratulations you two I can't wait to meet you sweet boy!” Matt James also commented saying “Let's gooo!!” as well as others such as Olympic gymnast Simone Biles who left white hearts emojis under their picture; professional dancer Witney Carson simply written AHHHHHH!!! It's clear that everyone is overjoyed for this beautiful couple!

As for what kind of parents these two will make, Johnson told US Weekly back in September that she wanted to be able be there for her child no matter what situation arises saying "Just knowing how to raise them in this world [is worrisome]. It's a crazy time. I even have a hard time navigating it myself." She added on that Chmerkovskiy has been an amazing support during her pregnancy helping her feel beautiful through it all.

As far as names go, Johnson said back when they announced they were expecting that they had had two names pre-picked out three years prior but wanted to wait until he arrived before deciding. Here's hoping we get an update soon!
