Former Degrassi Star Lauren Collins Expecting Baby #2
Canadian actress and former Degrassi: The Next Generation star Lauren Collins just announced her second pregnancy in a heartwarming Instagram post. The 36-year-old who played the role of Paige Michalchuk on the show, is expecting a baby with her husband Jonathan Malen and shared a sweet selfie where she places her hand on her baby bump while smiling for the photo. The post was met with many congratulatory messages from celebrities like Annie Clark and Ashley Leggat.
The couple, who wed in October 2018, welcomed their first child, Charlie Sebastian Malen in March 2020, and celebrated his second birthday in March 2021. This will be the first addition to their family since then and they are beyond thrilled to start this new chapter in their lives.
Collins is known for her role as a mean girl on Degrassi but in real life has proven to be nothing but kind-hearted and generous. She was an inspiration to millions of young women during her time on the show, encouraging them to stand up for themselves even when surrounded by meanness from others. It is no surprise then that she has chosen to raise her family with values of kindness, compassion and respect for others.
Even though some things about being pregnant have changed over time, some things remain constant; like how exciting it is for both parents! Pregnancy is an incredibly special time filled with anticipation and joy as both parents prepare themselves for the arrival of their little bundle of joy. Every couple experiences it differently but one thing is sure - they all share one special bond that starts right from the moment they see those two lines appear on a pregnancy test!
For Lauren and Johnathan this will be their second time around so they are more prepared than ever before! They already have an adorable 2-year-old son Charlie who will no doubt make an excellent big brother! There's no doubt he'll get along great with his little sibling when that day comes next spring! We can only imagine how excited he must already be about it!
