I just want to mention that it's difficult for readers to understand what you mean when you say that it is so rare in the United States that no one has used the name Gelinda since 1969, yet also mention there are 35 known people with that name. I am one of them, born in 1970. If you'd care to know, it's a mixture of my two aunts, Geneva and Linda. My third aunt was Clara Sue, so I became Gelinda Sue to include all my mother's sisters. So to chop up the name meaning, Gelinda; Sue means "sweet and beautiful; like a lily." But the Hebrew meaning is much better, though complicated since it apparently takes in the first initials of a person's parents in order to produce a precise name meaning. In Hebrew (with my parent's initials, J. and B., Gelinda means "innermost holy place" or "holiest of holies" where only priests were allowed to enter and the ark of the covenant was kept. Just so you know. - Gelinda
